Just when I'm getting worried that this blog will never get out of italics (indicating quotes from other sources) a topic to write about presents itself.
I am currently watching Grand Designs which each weak follows an innovative design project. This week's programme is about a couple building an "underground" eco house in the Eden Valley in Cumbria. They are building it in a small disused quarry so that they get the pleasure of being in a beautiful landscape without having an impact on that landscape.
Some time ago Jon Husband and I were discussing the impact that huge villas have had on the beautiful Sunshine Coast north of Vancouver and how easy it would have been to avoid the problem.
Sometimes all it takes to minimise our impact on the planet is a little care and attention.
