I'm going to enjoy this book!

I have just started reading Brad Blanton's Radical Honesty and although I am only a couple of pages in to the introduction I have already wanted to quote it at least three times.

I'll content myself with this for the moment:

Many of us learned as children that being fully alive was bad and you got hurt for it, so we deadened ourselves; partly as a defence against the big people, and partly to spite them. Deadening ourselves was our way of hiding that we were alive in improper ways, and the only thing to do was keep it a secret.
