OK so I know it's not the first time an idea has come to someone in a bath but there I was soaking in mine, reading the wonderful Wherever You Go There You Are by Jon Kabat-Zinn, musing over what the point of Twitter was when I came across the following paragraph:

What is really going on is what is always present. Love and kindness are here all the time, somewhere, in fact everywhere. Usually our ability to touch them and be touched by them lies buried below our own fears and hurts, below our greed and our hatreds, below our desperate clinging to the illusion that we are truly separate and alone.
