One of the many things I am relishing about my new freelance, online life is that things matter.
I am not saying that nothing mattered in my twenty one years in "real" jobs at the BBC. My presbyterian upbringing made sure that much of it did. But the scope and range of my cock-ups in "real" jobs was somewhat limited, at least in terms of publicity if not consequence, compared to my life now.
What the recent Quechup fiasco reminded me of is that in a connected, online world even mistakes that you didn't make matter.
I reckon this is a good thing - what do you think?
